Some democrat lawmakers had their panties' in a bunch on Thursday after hearing that Joe Biden didn't intend to veto a bill that House Republicans passed which would rescind a D.C. law that gives more lenient penalties to violent criminals.
Yes, we're not joking - they're mad because Joe Biden doesn't want to veto an anti-crime bill. Of course, Biden signing the bill is the choice that he should make, considering America is currently in the middle of a terrible violent crime wave, and not to mention the fact that giving more lenient criminal penalties to murderers and rapists is obviously completely fucking idiotic; but for some reason, being soft on violent crime seems to be the Democratic Party's typical modus operandi these days.
Leading the charge against Biden's refusal to veto the anti-crime bill is Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who has an extremely stupid take on a very important issue, as per usual.
Biden tweeted on Thursday (which we've embedded below) that even though he supports D.C. statehood (something that is actually more-than-likely unconstitutional, according to many scholarly interpretations of Article I, Section 8, Clause 17 of the U.S. constitution), he doesn't support lowering penalties for violent criminals.
I support D.C. Statehood and home-rule – but I don’t support some of the changes D.C. Council put forward over the Mayor’s objections – such as lowering penalties for carjackings.
— President Biden (@POTUS) March 2, 2023
If the Senate votes to overturn what D.C. Council did – I’ll sign it.
But Rep. Ocasio-Cortez apparently wasn't satisfied enough with Biden's support of likely-unconstitutional D.C. statehood but opposition of lenient violent crime laws in D.C.. "This is outrageous! It should be all or nothing!" AOC rationalized.
She quote-tweeted Biden with the response we've embedded below.
This ain’t it. DC has a right to govern itself, like any other state or municipality. If the President supports DC statehood, he should govern like it.

Plenty of places pass laws the President may disagree with. He should respect the people’s gov of DC just as he does elsewhere. https://t.co/VXczSp8YPc
"This ain't it," tweeted AOC. We're not quite sure what the Congresswoman was referring to by "it," or why she felt compelled to use the Southern-slang word "ain't" instead of the grammatically-correct "isn't" but we digress...
She argued a pretty absurd non-sequitur in her tweet, claiming that if the POTUS truly supports D.C. statehood, then he should obviously veto the anti-crime bill. Of course, this argument makes absolutely no fucking sense whatsoever, but we should expect that from Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, who even though is probably a smart woman from what we can tell, often offers outrageously ridiculous and ignorant commentary on socio-political and economic issues.
Another cowardly lawmaker, who was too scared to even identify his or herself, told The Hill: "“F****** AMATEUR HOUR. HEADS SHOULD ROLL OVER AT THE WHITE HOUSE OVER THIS. The White House f***** this up royally.” It's unclear whether this was spoken or emailed to The Hill, as it was reported with the caps-locked and the letters in the word "fuck" asterisked out.
As usual, the Democrats in D.C. were acting so childish and unhinged that they gave us some pretty interesting content to laugh at them over. Thanks, morons!
