According to WaPo, earlier today Russia aired on their state TV channel, a bizarre simulation of Russia and Ireland being annihilated by a nuclear weapon.
The video is well-produced and the cinematography is reminiscent to something one might see on an episode of Forensic Files or Real Stories of the Highway Patrol.
In the video, a man named Dmitry Kiselev is pictured speaking in a stern tone and apparently warning the people of Britain and Ireland. At one point, he asks "Why mess with Russia?"
While he's speaking, he's cinematically turned into a blurry silhouette against a computer-animated cartoon of a torpedo, then in a terroristically though perhaps somewhat-humorously-Dr. Evil-like fashion, the tsunami explodes underwater, creating a massive tsunami that wipes out all of Britain.
Although certainly threatening, one should keep in mind this came from Russian-state media, and this threat should be treated accordingly. We can never know just how credible a Russian threat actually is - especially one aired on Russian State Television - and more often than not, they should be taken as a grain of salt. One should also note that even though it's conceivably possible, there's no evidence of any nuclear warhead on the face of the earth being able to produce such a tsunami, according to our research here at Ending Politics.
